Concept. POG

There are many variations of the Proof of Gameplay (POG) vision from different developers. The POG vision in the GPN project is based on a similar concept to mining in POW, where the number of participants and their power determines how much reward they get for their work. POG in GPN works in a similar way. The system is designed in such a way that players compete against each other to get a bigger reward. The players' performance is compared based on their gaming activity. All this data is processed by a specially designed protocol. This protocol is called GFRS

GFRS

GFRS - Gamers fair reward system, according to which a player is rewarded for his game if his game fulfils certain criteria. The eligibility criteria may be different for each game, but the protocol will endeavour to reward all players fairly.

Players are rewarded for proving the game, rather than for performing certain actions in the game. This is achieved by analysing and adjusting the calculation algorithms for a particular game. Therefore, it is impossible to say what exactly you get more rewards for.

Proof of Gaming is your ability to play and enjoy the game, it does not include doing anything in an attempt to increase your share of coins. Receiving a Proof of Game award should be a bonus and not your primary source of income.

To understand the following text, you need to recognise some notations :

  • The Round - A time period that has a start time and an end time.

  • The Round Difficulty - The sum of all points in a round.

  • The Round System - The system which calculates each player's share of a particular round. The share is calculated for each round individually. It is equal to the player's points divided by the total number of points (share = player score / round score).

CRS

CRS - Continuous Round System - a system which introduces a new concept, such as "difficulty". Difficulty is dynamic and depends on the total number of points per round received by players in the round. The more points a round has, the harder it is to "mine" a coin in the game. The total PoG fund is distributed based on the number of active players per game.

The current coin distribution system, based on CRS, distributes the player's share across multiple rounds, which improves proof of play and helps distribute the reward more fairly. Another consequential advantage of this system is dynamic complexity. The share of all borderline, ongoing matches in the next round is carried over to the next round, which helps to balance the difficulty of the round.

Continuous Round System (CRS) allows to move matches between rounds, providing a smooth and efficient gaming experience for all users. In the CRS, if a match lasts longer than one round, it will be counted in multiple rounds. And points will be awarded in proportion to the time spent in each round. For example, if player plays a match that lasts for 2 hours, then his match will be counted in two rounds with the corresponding point value. This approach ensures a fair and balanced distribution of rewards

Rounds

There is a pie chart that is divided into rounds and displays the historical difficulty. There are 24 rounds per day (1 hour = 1 round).

Example

A large sweep of 5 rounds is shown below.

Calculation

The reward per round is calculated as follows:

First, the total reward to be distributed in a given round is calculated. If a jackpot was played in the previous round, its reward is carried over to the next round. Any round in which there were no matches is considered a jackpot. Then the total score of matches in a particular round is summed up. It is obtained by taking all the match fractions in a round and multiplying by the total number of match points, then these values are added up to get the total number of points in a round. To calculate the match fraction in the current round, the match time in the current round is divided by the total match time in all rounds and multiplied by the total number of points received for a particular match. Similarly, the remaining matches in a round are counted and the total number of points is summed. After calculating the total number of points, the award is calculated. It is calculated by dividing the match points in the round by the total number of points in the round and multiplied by the award fund in the round. Awards for other matches are calculated in the same way. The difficulty of "mining" coins in PoG depends on the player's activity. The more activity a player has, the more his share of the round will be, and therefore the reward.

So, using round A and round B as examples, we can calculate the following:
